The foundation work consisted of a 36\u201d thick Slurry Wall (SW) and Load Bearing Elements (LBEs) for top-down construction of the garage structure which includes three levels of underground parking. The slurry wall has both temporary and permanent functions as, respectively, support of excavation and foundation wall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The slurry wall and LBEs were constructed through layers of fill, organic and marine deposits (sand, silt, gravel); numerous made-made obstructions were encountered.
