2016 to 2018 – Dubai, U.A.E.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The 53-story, 282-meter-high ICD Brookfield Place, designed by Foster + Partners, is the first major project to get under way at the Dubai International Finance Centre (DIFC) since the onset of the 2008 financial crisis.<\/strong>
It contains more than 83,613 square meters of office space and connects to an adjacent, 13,935-square-meter, five-story retail center. There is also a 1,672-square-meter public area flanked by restaurants that will feature regular arts and cultural events, and the complex will have parking for 2,700 cars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project has been designed to achieve Leed Gold certification and in 2021 it received the prestigious Geotechnical Engineering Award of Excellence from the Counsil of Tall Buildings & Urban Habitat (CTBUH).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main contract to build ICD Brookfield Place has been awarded to a joint venture between Brookfield Multiplex and South Korea\u2019s Ssangyong E&C and in 2016 Swissboring (a Trevi Group Company), was awarded the geotechnical engineering package, which included the design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swissboring mobilized on ICD Brookfield Place project at middle of March 2016, and the project duration was approximately 14 months. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scope of work included the construction of 12,000 m\u00b2 of new diaphragm wall, 850 number of piles diameter ranging between 1,000 mm to 1,500 mm and more than 2,000 number of ground anchors, both on existing and new diaphragm wall. Production started on early April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main challange of the project was to deepen by 2 additional basement levels the already installed diaphragms wall and foundations for just 5 basements, according to a superseeded design.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n
