2018 to 2021 \u2013 Dubai, U.A.E<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The 2,400MW Hassyan clean coal power station is an ultra-supercritical (USC) power plant project being developed in Saih Shuaib, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Upon completion, the project is set to be the first coal-based power plant in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project supports the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, which is aimed at producing environment-friendly energy. The programme aims to produce 25% of energy from solar power, 7% from nuclear power, 7% from clean coal and the remaining 61% from gas by 2030.The power plant is expected to produce sufficient electricity to power approximately 250, 000 households.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hassyan Energy Company, which is a joint venture (JV) between Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA, 51%) and the consortium of ACWA Power, Harbin Electric and the Silk Road Fund (49%), is the project Developer<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swissboring had been proactive to an immediate call from the project developer in early 2018 to address the settlement issues at the project which had been developed due to the presence of adverse sub- surface conditions associated with potential cavities, either open or partially collapsed and the presence of extremely weak rock formation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swissboring\u2019s proposal was to adopt a combination of mortar grout to treat the cavity prone area and slurry grout to deal with weak rock formations.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project had been executed in two different phases, the first phase in February 2018 to September 2018, focusing on unit 1 and unit 2 of the power plant and the second was phase was carried out from February 2019 to May 2021, pertaining to Unit 3 and unit 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the peak of the project 9 no. drilling rigs and 3\/4 no. grouting units were deployed in this project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 5,460 no. holes with a total linear meter of approximately 82,000 m and around 10,800 m3 of grout had been consumed in this project.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n
