Veidekke signed a contract with Bane NOR for the double-track project Drammen-Kobbervikdalen on the Vestfold line

Veidekke, a leading construction contractor with a clear market position in and around urban centres in Scandinavia, at the end of 2019 signed a contract with Bane NOR for the double-track project Drammen-Kobbervikdalen on the Vestfold line.

Veidekke section runs through the residential districts on the outskirts of Drammen city and includes the construction of a 300 m tunnel in loose material as well as a 600 m concrete culvert. The route passes through clay and moraine masses and is mainly below the groundwater level. The turn-key contract entails extensive work, with soil consolidation and securing against groundwater.

Veidekke, has awarded Trevi Spa the improvement of the soil of the Drammen tunnel, which is part of the Vestfoldbanen section from Drammen to Kobbervikdalen and which crosses a densely populated residential area with intense traffic and numerous interferences on steep surfaces, and foresees a new double-track railway of 10 km, of which 7 km in tunnels.
