The third macro areas of the UDK02 project changes from cut and cover to soil tunnel

The third macro areas of the UDK02 project for the construction of the new Drammen-Kobbervikdalen high-speed line , changes from cut and cover to soil tunnel.

In this area Trevi Spa consolidates the soil ring surrounding the excavated section.

This section is called “full face” because the consolidated ring surrounds the entire tunnel section. In the last zone, the fourth, the tunnel line intercepts a rock formation progressively, from the bottom to the top and, therefore, from this point onwards the section is called “mix face”, since it is necessary execute an arch treatment, starting from the bedrock level.
