Consolidation works have been assigned to Trevi, which in order to carry out the required inspections – including the checking of the 80-tons hatchways that regulate the water draining through the outlet tunnels (operations already described in the previous issues of the Trevi Group Journal) – brought a hyperbaric platform at the construction site to be used by Drafinsub and Nautilus companies from Genoa and Venice entrusted of the dam inspections, challenging all imaginable logistics issues related to the country’s situation. This equipment allows a team of six divers to operate in a hyperbaric environment up to 60 meters deep, within a “bell” working as a sort of elevator, and concentrate decompression operations at the end of the work shift.
