The closing event of the Company Award for Safety was held on Thursday 24th October 2013 in Rome, at the headquarters of Confindustria. This award, at its second edition, was established by Confindustria and Inail (Italian Workers Compensation Authority), under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic and with the technical collaboration of APQI (Italian Quality Award Association) and Accredia (Italian Validation Body).
At the opening ceremony, the message of the President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano stated the following: "I appreciate the attention that Confindustria and Inail continue to pay to an issue of crucial importance for the civil and social growth of the country. The commitment, that the companies honoured with the awards have made in order to develop appropriate technical and management solutions in the field of safety, is a concrete example of how the reduction of risk factors in the production circuit can also have a positive impact on the level of competitiveness of our country."
The meeting was attended, among others, by Giorgio Squinzi, the President of Confindustria, the General Secretaries of CGIL and CISL, Susanna Camusso and Raffaele Bonanni, the confederal secretary of UIL Paolo Carcassi and Jole Santelli, the undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour.
The conference, which concluded the initiative of Confindustria, was the setting for the ceremony where awards and mentions were given to companies which best committed themselves in the field of safety management.
